Andrea Nell Kimbell Maddox, known lovingly to family and friends as Nana, passed away on May 4, 2026, in Jackson, Georgia, at the age of 81.
Born on November 23, 1944, Andrea lived a life marked by devotion, kindness, and steadfast love. She was the cherished daughter of Andrew Ray Kimbell and Nellie Pelt Kimbell, both of whom preceded her in death. Andrea graduated as the Salutatorian of the Jackson High School Class of 1962. She carried the values of her upbringing throughout her life, meeting each season with grace, strength, and a generous spirit.
Andrea was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a faithful servant of the Lord. For more than 60 years, she was a longtime member of Stark United Methodist Church in Jackson, where she served her church community with joy and love. She faithfully gave her time to several administrative committees, taught Sunday School, and served as a member of the ladies Acorn Circle ministry until her health declined. Her faith was not simply something she professed, but something she lived each day through her actions, her service, and her care for others. She was a true family woman with a heart for serving others. She found her greatest joy in caring for her family. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she loved them beyond measure. She treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in the family she helped nurture with such devotion.
A true pillar of strength and love, Andrea devoted countless hours to her family and their business, Stananco, which was a passion she shared for 42 years. She faithfully managed the books, maintained detailed records, handled payroll, and ensured that everything ran smoothly. No matter the task, she approached it with dedication and grace, always making sure those around her were supported. She truly did it all, and her steady presence was a blessing to all who depended on her.
In addition to her many years of service to her family and church, Andrea retired from Central Georgia EMC after 42 years of service, where she served as Director of Human Resources. Her professional life reflected the same integrity, diligence, and care that she brought to every part of her life. She was respected for her leadership and admired for the way she treated others with fairness and kindness.
