Mr. Billy Franklin Cook, age 86 of Jackson, peacefully passed away late Monday evening February 12, 2024, at his residence and surrounded by his loving family. His death followed a period of declining health. Billy was born Wednesday, September 15, 1937, in Jackson to the late Robert Wesley Cook and Alberta Barham Cook. Billy was a lifelong resident of Jackson and the owner of Cooks Garage and Wrecker Service for several years until his health forced his retirement.
In addition to his parents Billy is preceded in death by his former wife Jeanette Bunch Cook, grandchildren; Jenny Cook and Zachary Johnson, son-in-law, Ray Berryhill, sisters; Sara Kelly, Ruby Norwood and Doris Smith brothers; James Cook, and Howell (Nub) Cook.
Billy is survived by his wife; Sandra McLees Cook, sons; Bobby Cook, Chris Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, sons and daughters-in-law; Randy & Delain Cook, Brad & Lisa Johnson, daughter; Donna Cook Berryhill all of Jackson. 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers; Maurice (Coot) Cook, and William (Bubba) Cook and his favorite dog Bo.
Billy loved to go to yard sales, flea markets and listen to Tradio. He was an avid collector of walking sticks, cast iron cookware and knives. Billy enjoyed the art of conversation as well as buying and selling almost anything especially cars and trucks.
Memorial services for Mr. Billy Franklin Cook will be held in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Saturday February 17, 2024, at 11 AM, Mr. Rudy Mangham will officiate. The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home beginning at 10 AM immediately prior to the Service.
