Calvin Walker Obituary

Calvin Eddy Walker of Locust Grove, GA left his earthly home September 26, 2021. He was born in Weston, Vermont on May 18, 1941 to Kenneth and Anna Walker. He spent his childhood developing a strong work ethic on the family dairy farm and enjoying many adventures outdoors. He had natural curiosity to fix things which lead to him attending the Academy of Aeronautics in Flushing, NY and received a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduating he joined the National Guard and soon found himself moving to Athens, GA, living with his Uncle and attending the University of Georgia where he graduated with another degree in Agricultural Engineering. He went to work for Georgia Power in heat pump sales, but left to pursue a dream of opening his own business, AC&E Automotive in Stone Mountain, GA a little mom and pop business which he and his wife, Sidney, ran for 25 years. After moving from Tucker to Locust Grove in 1996, they closed their automotive repair and were part owner in a motorcycle dealership with their daughter and son-in-law, Randy and Summer Crawford. Calvin retired in 2004 to enjoy projects and family around the farm. He was also an elder of Jackson Presbyterian Church which he dearly loved and served the community through other volunteer work.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sidney Walker, daughter Summer Crawford (Randy, Madison and Molly), daughter Hannah Bowden (Vic, Brad, Julia and Madeline) sister Beverly Roberts and family, brother Francis Walker and family and his Aunt Rue Walker. He leaves behind a legacy of love for Jesus, kindness spread to all that knew him and a lifetime of hard work and dedication to his family and farm.

Family will be receiving visitors September 29 from 1-2 PM at The Jackson Presbyterian Church with funeral following at 2 pm.
