Mr. Carl Edward Tumlin, age 70 of Flovilla, passed away early Saturday morning, July 15, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his caring family. Carl was born Thursday, September 11, 1952, in Atlanta to the late George William & Edna Stewart Tumlin.
He was the founder of Atlanta Access Controls, a full-service, commercial security company which provides access control, video surveillance, alarm and automatic gate entry service to the middle Georgia area. Carl was very well known and respected in his field. He attended Grace Baptist Church in McDonough. He was a motorcycle drag racing enthusiast and holds several track records. Carl shared his passion for motorcycle drag racing with his family and friends especially his grandson Matthew. Carl enjoyed playing the guitar, the dobro, and the banjo, he could play just about anything with strings. There wasn’t much that he couldn’t do, he was an exceptional mechanic and could fix anything. He absolutely adored spending time with his grandchildren, Matthew and Madelyn.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Heather Anne Tumlin, daughter, Julie Ann Bledsoe grandchildren; Mathew Pike & Madelyn Pike, sisters; Kathy Casper & Mary Tumlin in addition to many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Carl is predeceased by five siblings: Wayne Tumlin, Elmer Tumlin, Colon Tumlin, Barbara Taylor and Rita White.
Funeral Services for Mr. Carl Edward Tumlin will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Mr. Ron Little will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Flovilla North Cemetery. The Family will gather Tuesday evening July 18, 2023, at 6 PM and will receive friends until 8 PM at the Funeral Home.
