Carolyn Fretwell Robison, a lifelong resident of Jackson, GA passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday July 17, 2018 surrounded by family at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA.
Carolyn was born September 18, 1933. She was a graduate of Jackson High School and Mercer University and a member of Chi Omega Soriety.
She was preceded in death by her parents Van W. Fretwell and Julia Pettigrew Fretwell, brothers John Richard and Daniel B. Fretwell and sister Rose F. Howell.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, T. E. Robison, Jr. (Sonny), her two sons Thomas Clay Robison and Charles E. Robison of Jackson and her daughter Janet R. McKibben (Don) of Salem, VA two grandsons Brandon (Jamie) McKibben of Salem, Alex McKibben of Richmond, VA and one granddaughter, Kelly McKibben of Salem, VA., one great granddaughter and one great grandson both of Salem, VA., three nephews and one niece.
Being a devoted loving wife, mother, and grandmother was her life’s special achievement, she was a diligent homemaker. Enjoying her family, friends, home, dogs and avian friends and her yard work.
Carolyn was an avid Georgia football fan. Until a few years ago she had only missed a few home games since 1950. She enjoyed traveling, vacationing at St. Simons Island and displaying her culinary skills.
She hosted the Jackson United Methodist Women’s Club for many years in her home at the Christmas season, a member of the church for 63 years.
Carolyn made many lasting friendships with her Chi Omega Soriety sisters from Mercer University and hosted a group in her home on numerous occasions.
She will be greatly missed and never forgotten, we all take comfort now knowing she rests in peace.

Funeral services for Carolyn Fretwell Robison will be Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 3:30PM at the Jackson United Methodist Church. Dr. Phil DeMore and Rev. Chris Shurtz will officiate with interment in the Robison family lot in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30PM until 3:30PM at the church.
