Charles Monroe Maddox, age 72, of Jackson, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018. He was born November 3rd, 1946 to George and Margaret Maddox of Barnesville. He attended Gordon Military College and later obtained a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Georgia. He was also a longtime member of Marvin United Methodist Church in Lamar County.
An avid farmer, he devoted his spare time to breeding and raising cattle. He enjoyed agriculture of all types. He received the Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year Award by the Butts County Jaycees. He was also an active member of the Butts County Farm Bureau and served as Vice President and as a director.
In 2000, he retired from the Central Georgia EMC after 31 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jan his daughter and son-in-law, Evan and Ginger Smith, grandchildren, Owen and Zoe Smith.

Funeral Services for Charles M. Maddox will be Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 3:00PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rudy Mangham will officiate with interment at Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
