Charles Loy “Sonny” Wilson, age 76, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away Thursday evening, October 11, 2018 at Kindred Hospice in Athens, GA. He was born in Jackson, GA April 15, 1942 son of the late James Loy Wilson and Elizabeth Redman Wilson. He was a graduate of Lyerly, GA High School and was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Army. Sonny was an avid football fan and loved vacationing with his family.


Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Roberts Wilson, daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Ronnie Roberts, Lisa and Ben Young; grandchildren, Alex, Matthew and Taylor Young, Gavin and Dylan Roberts; sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Dean Wood, brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Joan Wilson and brother, Randall Wilson; nieces, JoAnn Hooks, Candace Webb and Mandy Gunter.


Funeral services for Charles Loy “Sonny” Wilson will be Monday, October 15, 2018 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Rev. Joey Edwards will officiate with interment in the Stark Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until 2:00PM.
