Debbie Mitchell Obituary

Mrs. Debbie Lynn Mitchell, age 73 of Woodbine, GA formerly of Jackson, peacefully passed away suddenly early Sunday morning, February 16, 2025, at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL . She was born Thursday, May 17, 1951, in Birmingham, AL to the late Robert & Georgia Terrell.  Debbie graduated Decatur High School in 1968, then began her profession as the Chief Caretaker of the Family, the pets and the home. Debbie was the wife of former Jackson veterinarian, Dr. William Mitchell. She was a military wife for 26 years, then later worked as a veterinarian assistant and animal care giver for several years. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Blue Ridge, GA.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dr. William Mitchell, daughter; Robbii, RuthAnn, Adell, David, Kylie grandchildren; Starr, Tate, Jacob, Mary, Cloe, Katie and Oliver, siblings; Michael Terrell, Judy Mitchell and Susan Mixon. In addition to her parents, Debbie is preceded in death by her son; Nevada Mitchell, sisters; Nancy Yancy and Karen Burch along with a granddaughter; Evie Satterfield.

A Rosary for Mrs. Debbie Lynn Mitchell will be held at the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 1 PM prior to a Memorial Service to be held in the St. Mary’s Mother of God Catholic Church at 2 PM, Father John Conway will officiate.  A private Family inurnment will be held in the Jackson City Cemetery at a later date.                                                                      .
