Edward Michael Preston

Mr. Edward Michael Preston, age 77 of Macon, passed away Wednesday September 11, 2024, at the Westbury Center of Jackson for Nursing & Healing. Mike was born Tuesday December 10, 1946, in Columbus, GA to the late Payton & Vergie Preston. He graduated Baker High School in Columbus then attended Columbus Area Vocational Technical School where he earned an associate in tool & die. Mike proudly served his Country in the Vietnam Conflict while completing his tour in the United States Army. He was previously employed by Starr Packaging in Forest Park then later retired from Cadillac Products in Dallas. Mike treasured the opportunity to go fishing and watch old westerns. He was a sports enthusiast who appreciated his television time watching the Braves and Falcons but more than any other sports team he dearly loved his Florida Gators.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son James Preston of Jackson, daughters & sons-in-law; Tracie & Barry Hardin of Haddock and Christina & Sean Hyson of Jackson, eight grandchildren; Blake McAllister, Brandon McAllister, Keith Bales & fiancé Nicole, Joey Bales, Summer Hinson, Jacob Dalton, Payton Hyson and Emily Hyson, brother & sister-in-law Ernest & Cathy Preston of Monroe along numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Mike is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years Faye Preston, sons; Dale Dalton and Michael Dalton, daughter Tammy Brewer, sister Anne Woodall, brothers; Joe Preston, John Preston and Hicks Preston.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Edward Michael Preston will be held at 12 PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home Saturday October 5, 2024, Mr. Carlos Duffey will officiate.
