Emily Hamlin Obituary
Emily Kersey Hamlin, age 74, of Jackson, GA passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at her residence. She was a life-long resident of Butts County, born December 9, 1942 to Ruth Leverrette Kersey and Jamie Kersey. She was wife of the late Leslie Hamlin who passed away in 1996. She was a 1960 graduate of Jackson High School and was an Administrator at the Butts County Health Department for over 30 years. Emily was a former garden club member and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Emily enjoyed flower gardening, boating and collecting.
Survivors include her special friend, Guy Wilson; daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Carey Colwell; granddaughter, Stephanie Colwell Pierce and Brandon, grandsons, Joshua Colwell and Landon Colwell; great grandchildren, Harper Grace Pierce, Render Pierce and Ivey Pierce; brother and sisters, Jimmy Kersey and Martha Lyn Kersey; Karen Breedlove and Penny Spikes; sisters-in-law, Sarah (Gerald) Hamlin and Gwen (Fred) Hamlin.
A Memorial Service for Emily Kersey Hamlin will be Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Dr. Ed Hoard will officiate.
