Evelyn Faye (Jackson) Benson

Evelyn Faye Jackson Benson, a beacon of light and laughter, passed away peacefully at her residence in Jackson, Georgia on February 7, 2026. Born on August 21, 1935, in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, Faye's charismatic personality and infectious smile were her signature traits that endeared her to everyone she met.

Faye was the beloved wife of the late Jerry Benson, with whom she shared a remarkable journey of 65 years. She was a cherished sister, predeceased by her five sisters and two brothers, and her best friend, Kathy Goodroe. Faye's memory will be lovingly carried on by her devoted nephews, Kerry Jackson and Steve Malcom, her compassionate caregiver, April Brownlee, and the many friends of the Jackson Lake Community who were like an extended family to her. Faye enjoyed the weekend trips and parades that she attended as a faithful member of the Thunderbirds Car Club.   

                                                                                                 
Faye was a devoted member of the Stark Methodist Church, alongside her husband Jerry. Their unwavering faith and commitment to the church were evident as they attended services regularly until their health began to decline. Faye's presence at church events, her warm greetings, and her readiness to lend a hand will be profoundly missed by her church family.

Those who knew Faye would describe her as loving, friendly, and generous. Her ability to make others laugh and the ease with which she spread joy were unparalleled. Faye's impact on her community was significant, and her absence will leave a void that cannot be filled.

Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Faye Jackson Benson will be conducted at Stark Methodist Church, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 1 PM, Rev. Bob Wooten will officiate the service.
