Glynn Joseph “Ginney” Mangham, age 98, of Jackson, GA passed away early Tuesday, September 27, 2016. He was born April 26, 1918 in Butts County son of the late Wiley and Eva Bell Grant Mangham. He was a graduate of the Towaliga School. Ginney was married to Jeanette Smith Mangham who passed away in 2001. He was in the United States Army during world War II. He was the last living member of the 121st. Infantry located in Jackson. He faught in France, Germany and the Battle of the Bulge. He came in behind the “ D” Day invasion when he faught in France and Germany. He received the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart among many others. He loved to fish and hunt and gardening. He was in the Georgia National Guard for over 20 years.
Survivors include his children, Dennis Glynn Mangham, Ricky Alan “Rabbit” Mangham and Cindy Mangham Schroeder. Five grandchildren, Christy and Ken Christian, Ryan and Tiffany Mangham, Nathan, Joey and Kimberley Schroeder. Five Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services for Glynn Joseph “Ginney” Mangham will be Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11 A.M. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Rudy Mangham will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5 – 7 PM.
