Gwendolyn McMichael Morris

Gwendolyn McMichael Morris passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at the age of 97. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William M. Morris and Claudine Morris, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Morris, and a son, Joe M. Morris.

Also preceding her in death were nine sisters and one brother of the J. W. McMichael family. She was the youngest of eleven.

Mrs. Morris attended GSCW (Georgia State College for Women) in Milledgeville and had a long and rewarding career as a Kindergarten teacher and superintendent, bookkeeper and tax accountant. She completed her career as Manager of Instatax in Jackson, Georgia, and retired at age 85. She was an accomplished musician.

Funeral services for Gwendolyn M. Morris will be Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Minister Eddie Bowen and Minister Gary Boyd will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11A.M. until the hour of the funeral. She will be laid to rest in the Jackson City Cemetery.
