Mr. Henry Anderson Kitchens, age 66 local businessman and lifelong resident of Jackson, passed away at his residence Friday afternoon, September 13, 2024, after an extended illness. Henry was born in Monticello, Saturday, August 10, 1958, to the late William Hardiman & Edna Mae Moss Kitchens. Henry graduated Jackson High School in the Class of 1977 and was previously employed by Dundee Mills and Springs Industries in Jackson as the maintenance foreman until their closure in the early 2000’s. Henry was the retired owner of Signs by Kitchens, a business that started from a hobby and grew into a multi-faceted profession that made just about everything from signs and tee-shirts to trophies and grave monuments. He had served on the Board of Directors for the Jackson Housing Authority. He was a work-acholic but enjoyed spending his downtime fishing and camping.
Henry is survived by his wife of 7 years, Angie Melton Kitchens, one daughter, Kelli Kitchens of Columbia, MD, brother and sister-in-law, Bill & Tempie Kitchens of Locust Grove, brother, Roy Kitchens of Jackson, stepson and daughter-in-law, Joey & Megan Grant of Zebulon, grandchildren: Kinleigh Grant, Lola Grant, Saylor Grant, Cowen Grant, Rye Grant and Bailee Grant along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Henry Anderson Kitchens will be conducted Tuesday September 17, 2024, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Mr. Rudy Mangham will officiate. Interment will follow in the Jackson City Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Monday evening, September 16 between 6 & 8 PM at the Funeral Home or at other times at the residence.
