Inez Elizebeth Crook

Mrs. Inez Elizebeth Crook, affectionately known as Granny, age 89 of Jackson, passed away Tuesday evening, March 28, 2023, at Merryvale Assisted Living Center in Oxford, GA. She was born Saturday, December 9, 1933, in Suches GA to the late William Homer and Maybel Wilkins Gooch. Granny attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church. She enjoyed working cross word puzzles, but her favorite hobby was gardening which was evident because she loved fresh flowers. Before her health began to decline, she was known as a yard sale junkie.

She is survived by her; husband, Paul Watkins, daughter and son-in-law, Elaine & Don Mapp, of Jackson; sisters and brothers-in-law; Mary Anne & Jessie Mayfield of Buckhead, and Sandra & Jerry Baily of McDonough, five grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands Jackie Woody and Lloyd Crook along with her children; William Tony Woody and Myra Kathy Woody. She is also preceded in death by eight siblings; Glen Gooch, Bill Gooch, Kathleen Fitts, Tom Gooch, Clara Kid, Ervin Gooch, Blondene Bryan, Ned Gooch and several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral Services for Mrs. Inez Elizebeth Crook will be held Monday, April 3, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Pastor Michael Tinney will officiate. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Garden. The Family will receive friends, Sunday, April 2, 2023 between 4:00 & 6:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
