Jack Douglas Nix

Jack Douglas Nix, age 84, of Locust Grove, GA passed away February 17, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Six Mile, SC February 4, 1933 son of the late Thomas Walter Nix and Katherine Lewis Nix. He enlisted in the United States Air Force at 17 and served in the Korean War. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company following 30 years of service. Mr. Nix drove a bus for over 20 years for a Blue Grass Band called “ IIIrd Tyme Out”.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years Patricia Jane McCafferty Nix; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Kelly Nix, grandchildren, Jennifer and Matt Fletcher, Daniel and Tanya Nix, Macee Nix, Lennox Nix and Kaly LaRoche; Low Fletcher and nine other great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Lee Nix in 2010.

Funeral services for Jack Douglas Nix will be Monday, February 20, 2017 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Preacher Terrell Hopkins will officiate with interment in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00PM – 2:00PM.
