James Lucias Johnson passed away Sunday evening, September 5, 2021. He was born Thursday, September 14, 1933 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Ernest William and Abbie Jane Johnson. He Married Hellen M. Stewart on May 9, 1953.
They had four children: Earl (Barbara) Johnson of Griffin, GA; Brenda Watts of Jackson, GA; Monica Breen of Locust Grove, GA; and Natasha (Mike) Chancey of Locust Grove, GA.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2009. He was also preceded in death by 8 siblings and 1 son-in-law, Steve Watts.
He is survived by his grandchildren – Dayna (Dan) Friel; Heather (Cory) Grant; Deesa Shaw; Haley Johnson; Tiffany (Jerrime) Moore; Nicole (Keith) Huey; Stephanie (Andy) Smith; Amanda (Daniel) An; Drew (Lacie) Watts; and Rachel Chancey along with 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
James was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on April 8, 1972 and continued serving Jehovah faithfully and zealously, many of those years as a shepherd in the congregation, until his untimely death. James was a beautiful person with a beautiful smile and loved to fish and travel and spend time with his family.
James will also be remembered for his perseverance, courage and faithfulness. He had a long life of serving Jehovah and helping others to do so but also has truly helped many who needed aide in various ways, from shepherding calls to hospital visits to dropping by whatever is needed, until he no longer could. His family anxiously awaits their reunion as Jehovah’s promises are fulfilled.
Memorial Services for James Lucias Johnson will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 5:00 PM via Zoom.
