James William Peek, Sr., age 72, of Monticello, GA passed away June 21, 2017 at Riverside Healthcare in Covington, GA. He was born July 1, 1944 in Atlanta son of the late Jess Henry Peek and Mary Gladys Almond Peek. He graduated from North Georgia Trade School in 1961, was a member of Jaycees and Ducks Unlimited. He was a Pipefitter and worked for Central Fire Protection, Inc. for over 50 years. He was a member of the Stark United Methodist Church. James loved his family and his dogs and was a good provider.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Cardell Peek, son and daughter-in-law, James William Peek, Jr. and Carrie; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Ann and Keith Standridge; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gladys Carter.
A Memorial Service for James William Peek, Sr. will be Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Stark United Methodist Church. Dr. Layne Jenkins and Rev. Melanie Stanley Soulen will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 – 11 AM.
