James Saunders

James Finley “Jimmy” Saunders, age 78, of Jackson, GA passed away early Sunday morning, May 6, 2018 at his residence. He was born in the Stark Community April 23, 1940 son of the late George Ray Saunders and Inez Gray Saunders. Jimmy was a 1958 graduate of Jackson High School and was a member of the Georgia National Guard. He was employed by the Butts County Water and Sewer Department and later by the City of Jackson for a total of 44 years.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Saunders, children, Amy and Ron Holder, Steve and Anne Mercer, Kim and Mike Smith, grandchildren, Ryan Holder, Marissa Holder, Kalley Jones, Leighanna Jackson, Sam Jackson, Jessie Smith, Lillie Smith, sisters and brothers in law, Martha and Bill Jones, Mary and Bob Lucas and sisters-in-law, Jane Saunders, Kathy Saunders and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brothers, George Saunders, Billy Saunders and Tommy Saunders. Funeral services for Jimmy Saunders will be Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Dr. Stephen Soulen will officiate with interment in the Saunders family lot in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12 noon until 2:00PM.
