Joni Belinda Jones

Joni Belinda Brooks Jones, age 53, of Forsyth, GA passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Medical Center in Macon, GA. She was born December 27, 1962 in Baxley, GA daughter of Duane and Linda Kicklighter Brooks. Joni graduated from Appling County High School in 1980 and received her degree from Georgia College in Milledgeville in 1984 where she was a member of the Baptist Student Union. She was a musician and educator. She had taught at Conyers Middle School and the Gwinnett County School System. She retired from the Rockdale County School System in May, 2012. Joni was an accomplished pianist. She was the pianist for the Covington-Conyers Choral Guild from 1985 until the present. She and her husband, Mark, were married for 26 years. They had resided in Stone Mountain and Conyers, GA before moving to Forsyth, GA. She and Mark are members of the Watermark Church in Jenkinsburg. Survivors include her husband, Mark Jones of Forsyth, her son, Daniel Reagan Jones, parents, Duane and Linda Kicklighter Brooks of Baxley, GA, sister and brother-in-law Ella Ruth and Derek Belflower of Cochran, GA.

Funeral services for Joni Belinda Brooks Jones will be Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Jack Pickel and Roger Waters will officiate. Interment will be in the Jenkinsburg, GA City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 – 8PM.
