Mr. Joseph Edward Marchman, age 95, passed away early Thursday, August 31, 2023, after an extended illness. He was born Wednesday, November 16, 1927, in White Plains, GA to the late James H. Marchman and Lucille Moon Marchman.  He was a Correctional Officer with the Georgia Department of Corrections for many years prior to his retirement. Joe was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors include his children; Joseph A. (Jody) Marchman of Oneida TN, and Patrice Marchman Chafin of Jackson; grandchildren, Brittany & Clay Peters of Jackson, Lindsey Marchman of Charleston SC, Madeline & Jason Waller of Savannah, Taylor & Brad Perry of Panama City FL; great grandchildren, Kyle Allen, Brandon Allen, Kendell Brown, Gracie Waller, Wyatt Perry, Ali Brown, Emery Kate Perry, Brodey Peters and Hanna Peters. Along with his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Ann Marchman who passed away in November of 2018.

Graveside Services for Joseph Edward Marchman will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 11 AM in the Jackson City Cemetery, Pastor Mike Hammonds will officiate.
