Mrs. Joy Allen, age 72 of Jackson, peacefully passed away early Tuesday morning, April 9, 2024, at the Heritage Inn Nursing Home in Barnesville after a brief illness. She was born Sunday, December 30, 1951, in Griffin to the late Pete and Elise Fincher Marchman. Joy was a member of the former Pepperton Baptist Church and she enjoyed crossword puzzles and cooking, she will be lovingly remembered for her famous biscuits. Joy treasured her grandchildren and would give them anything they wanted even if they didn’t ask.
Joy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Sam Allen, she is also survived by one daughter and son in law; Haley & Terry Lindau of Jackson, and one son and daughter in law Troy & Christine Allen of Barnesville plus 7 grandchildren; Troy, Kayleigh, Brianna, Gabby, Ethan, Tripp and Saylor, one brother; Larry Marchman of Jersey, GA. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by 2 siblings; Songie McMichael and Jimmy Marchman.
Funeral Services will be conducted, Friday, April 12, 2024, at 12 PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Dr. Ed Hoard will officiate. Burial will follow the Service in the Worthville Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home for one hour immediately prior to the Service.
