June Butler, age 79, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on April 8, 2026. She was born on June 23, 1946, and was known to all who loved her simply as June. Her life was marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the many quiet acts of kindness that reflected the loving and kind woman she was.
June was the beloved wife of James R. Butler, Sr., and the two shared 61 and one-half years of marriage filled with love, commitment, and companionship. Together they built a family that was the center of her world. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Sonja Ramjohn, her son, James R. Butler, Jr. and his wife Terri. She was a proud grandmother to Mackenzie and Colt Lucas, Sarah and Charles Matick, and Trey Butler. Her joy continued into the next generation through her great-grandchildren, Aida Lucas and Adrian Lucas.
She is also survived by her brother, Jimmy McKenzie and his wife Donna, and her sisters, Joyce McCall and her husband Bud, and Della Keith. June was blessed by her friendship with Brenda McCall, who remained a cherished best friend for 50 years. Her family and friends will remember her for the warmth she shared, the steady love she gave, and the gentle strength that guided her through life.
June was preceded in death by her parents, L.H. and Mazie McKenzie, her brother Fred and his wife Shirley McKenzie.
A faithful member of Rock Springs Church, June found strength and comfort in her relationship with the Lord. She loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and lived her faith in a way that touched those around her. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, and taking pontoon rides on the lake.
June will be remembered as a loving and kind woman whose presence brought comfort and happiness to those around her. Her family, friends, and church community will forever cherish the memories of her laughter, her faith, and her unwavering love. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Memorial services for June Butler will be held at Rock Springs Church on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Jackson City Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. Online condolences may be expressed at www.haistenfuneral.com. Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson is serving the Butler family.
