Larry Edward Pickett

Larry Edward Pickett, age 76, of Jackson, GA passed away Thursday evening January 18, 2018 at Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin. He was born in Covington, GA August 1, 1941 son of James Pickett and Gertrude Gunnells Pickett.

He graduated from Newton County High School in 1959. He was in the Georgia Jaycees and the Exchange Club. He was an avid runner and was in many road races. He enjoyed playing golf and cards. He worked for the Hartford Insurance Company since he was 18 years old. He had been in the Georgia National Guard for several years . Other than his parents and brother, Charles, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Kersey Pickett. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Dawn Pickett; mother-in-law, Gladys (Mrs. Watson) Vaughn and special friend, Pat Daniel.

Funeral services for Larry Pickett will be Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 3:00PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson, with Rev. Dan Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00-3:00PM at the funeral Home. Interment will be in the Jackson City Cemetery.
