Linda Fay (Cargile) Watkins

Mrs. Linda Fay Cargile Watkins, age 81 of Jackson, peacefully passed away Thursday Morning, April 17, 2025, at the Westbury Center of Jackson where she had resided for the last 2 years. Linda was born Thursday, May 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Digby Cargile and was married to Robert A. (Bobby) Watkins for 62 years at the time of his death in February of this year. Linda graduated Jasper County High School. Linda was a full-time housekeeper while her girls were growing up, she then worked for a couple of Doctors in Jackson and retired as office manager for Dr. Moreno after over 20 years of service. She was a member of Rock Springs Church; she loved singing in the choir and playing the piano & organ, she occasionally filled in for the First Baptist Church of Jackson while she was a member there. Linda enjoyed gardening and making her yard beautiful. After her retirement, her favorite job was transporting her grandchildren. 

Linda is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Rhonda (Rusty), Cindy and Tammy (Scott); her grandchildren: Cecily & Nick, Chance, Joseph, Tyler & Palita, Marli & Alex, and Emma along with 9 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Julie Collins, sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherrie and J.E. Moncrief, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Linda is preceded in death by her siblings, Jeanette, Rebecca, Pat, Junior, James & Leonard.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Linda Faye Cargile Watkins will be conducted Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Rev. Cameron Shiflett will officiate. The Family will receive friends immediately prior to the Service, beginning at 1 PM. A private Family inurnment will be held at a later date.
