Lois Virginia Gordy

Mrs. Lois Virginia Gordy, age 88, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Westbury Center of Jackson for Nursing and Healing, where she had resided since 2019. Mrs. Gordy was born Saturday, November 30, 1935, in Summerville, GA to the late James Bethel Johnson and Essie Lee Hale Johnson. She had been employed as a manager for Bell Tone Hearing Aids before her retirement. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church in Lyerly, GA.

She is survived by her daughter; Donna Saunders of Forsyth, sons; Monte & Frances (Sissy) Turner of Galesville, AL and Philip Betsill of McDonough, daughter-in-law; Shelia Hughes of Molena along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sisters; Shelia Johnson, Linda Carrol and sister & brother-in-law; Joanna & Ed Thornson all of Summerville, GA. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; Donald Gordy, brother; James Johnson, son; Morris Wayne Hughes, Jr. and her grandson; Christopher Blake Turner.

The Family will announce plans for a Memorial Service to be held in Summerville, GA at a later date.
