Louise Welch Potts, 95, of Jackson, GA passed away Sunday morning, August 12, 2018 at Dream Catcher in the Woods near Jackson, GA. She was born in Lincoln, AL., May 5, 1923 daughter of the late John Jasper Welch and the late Maud Agnes Schaefer Welch. She was wife of the late Glenn Lamar Potts She was a graduate of Anniston High School, Anniston, AL and Clayton Jr. College in Morrow, GA as a Medical Technologist . She worked with Dr’s Howell and Hicks in Jackson and at Sylvan Grove Hospital and as a nurse at Jackson Elementary School. Louise was a member of Sylvan Grove Hospital Auxilliary, the Jackson Investment Club, former owner of Big Chief Grocery and was owner of real estate here and in Alabama. She was co-owner here of the Jackson City Dry Cleaners. Louise was a member of the Jackson First Baptist Church and the Jephtha Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her children, David Lamar and Jeannie Brinson Potts of Memphis, TN., Claudia Potts Holley and B.J. Holley of Jackson, John Wesley Potts of Jackson, Alice Potts Sylvester and Thomas X. Sylvester; eleven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 10 brothers and sisters, with two surviving sisters, Sarah Jones and Betty Phillips. Louise was a twin sister to Lureline, deceased.
Funeral services for Louise Welch Potts will be Tuesday at 2:00PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Cary Snelling officiating. Interment will be in the Jackson City Cemetery.
