Margaret Stephens

Margaret Kersey Stephens, age 88, of Jackson, GA passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Westbury Medical Care Home in Jackson. She was born in Butts County December 29, 1926 daughter of the late Ammon L. and Viola Kelly Bennett Kersey. She was the wife of the late Hesper Stephens who passed away in 1998. Margaret was a member of the Cedar Rock Church and was employed by the Butts County School lunchroom before her retirement. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Perry Wilkes of McDonough, Susan and Kenny Jeffares of Jackson; grandchildren, Kelly and Ken Maddox, Amy Wilkes, Jason and Carin Wilkes, Matt and Tiffany Speer, Brandon Speer, Dustin and Brittany Speer, Brent Speer, nine great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Frankie Kersey, Shirley Kersey, Lyda Stephens, Barbara Stephens and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Lee Speer in 1980, and nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Margaret Kersey Stephens will be Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Frank "Spud" Carson will officiate with interment in the Worthville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 - 8 PM.
