Mary Ann (Greenway) Brown

Mrs. Mary Ann Greenway Brown, age 85 of Jackson, peacefully passed away at her residence early Friday morning, May 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving Family. Mary Ann was born on Friday February 6, 1940, in Kannapolis, NC to the late E.P. and Stella Greenway. She relished her time in the garden, at family gatherings, playing cards and being with her friends in her bowling league. Mary Ann enjoyed life, and she was blessed with a musical talent, she played several instruments including the organ, harp, violin, and others. She was a classical pianist, and she loved to play her grand piano. She graduated Putnam Co. High School with the class of 1958 and began her career with the Georgia State Health Dept., the Rockdale County School System, and retired from the John Harland Check Co. She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church in Conyers.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 62 years; Charles Telford Brown of Jackson, 2 sons; Michael Brown of Jackson and Darrell Brown of Covington, granddaughter; Christina Brown, one great-granddaughter; Eva Dyer, one brother; Joe Greenway of Boone NC and 2 sisters; Kay Pounds of Sparta and Judy Leathers of Conyers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Joan Beam, Janet Vining and Butch Greenway.

A Memorial Service for Mary Ann Greenway Brown will be announced at a later date.
