Mildred Elizabeth Hartisch Maddox, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, age 96, of Jackson, GA passed away November 15, 2016 at the Westbury Medical Care Home. She was born in Lake Wales, FL September 5, 1920 daughter of the late Richard Julius Hartisch and Grace Smith Hartisch Sealy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Maddox, Sr. She resided in New York for several years. Mrs. Maddox was an avid gardener and loved to attend yard sales. She took a course in quilting at Gordon College. She also enjoyed sewing. She attended the Senior Center in Jackson and was a retired employee of American Mills with over 25 years service.
Survivors include her children, Grace M. Meredith, Barbara M. Wall, Charlotte M. Washington, Aubrey D. Maddox and Richard James Maddox; grandchildren, Kyle Washington, Lynne Killingsworth, Jed Wall, Wade Meredith, Joe Meredith, Tara Brown, B. J. Maddox and Zach Maddox, seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Herbert J. Maddox.
Funeral services for Mildred Maddox will be Monday, November 21, 2016 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Dr. Becky Baker and Mrs. Maddox’s family members will officiate. Interment will be in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Noon until the hour of the funeral (2:00PM).
