Peter Alan Chilton

Mr. Peter Alan Chilton, Age 53, of Jackson passed away Friday afternoon October 10, 2025, of complications from an extended illness. Peter was born Monday February 28, 1972, in East Meadow, New York, to the late Clive & Katharine Chilton. After high school he attended Griffin Tech and had been employed for over 15 years at Toga Manufacturing most recently in the shipping department and previously by the State of Georgia and American Woodmark. He was a huge Star Wars fan, and civil war enthusiast. His preferred pastime was LSU football, history and hiking and he dearly adored his Family.

Peter is survived by his wife of 15 years, Catherine Michelle Chilton, sons; Bryan Chilton of Jackson, Ian Phillips of North Carolina, son & daughter in law; Dakota & Ashton Chilton of Washington DC, daughters; Samantha Chilton of Jackson and Rachel Phillips of Orlando FL, 4 grandchildren; Pierce Chilton, Elaine Chilton, Simon Chilton and Evelyn Bernal. He is also survived by 3 brothers; David & Kim Chilton of Brentwood NY, Philip Chilton of Jackson and John Chilton of Florida, 2 sisters; Judy & John Newhoff of Hawley PA and Sarah Zureick & Eddie of West Babylon NY, father & mother-in-law; Charles & Denise Knight, sister-in-law; Kelli Knight and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Joy Chilton.

The Family will hold a private Memorial Service at a later date.
