Reba Morris Jinks, age 96 peacefully passed away Wednesday morning, September 21, 2022, at Autumn Village Assisted Living Center in Jackson where she had resided for the last 8 years. She was born Saturday, September 26, 1925, in the Greenwood Community of Henry County. She was the daughter of the late Hugh Gray and Mattie V. Steger Morris. Reba graduated as Valedictorian of the McDonough High School class of 1942. During WWII she worked at the Atlanta Ordinance Depot as the secretary to the Director of Personnel. Following her time of service at the Ordinance Depot she worked for over thirty-two years with The Central Georgia Electric Membership Corporation. During this time, she was secretary to three different General Managers, the late R.F. Armstrong, the late R.A. O’Quinn and current General Manager, George Weaver. She was a faithful member of The Jackson United Methodist Church for as long as her health allowed.
She dearly loved her family, and she is survived by her son; Hugh Thomas Bond of Canton, two granddaughters; Stacey Cawthon of Jackson and Whitney Wilcox of Canton, along with three grandsons; Matthew Ridgway of Jackson, Roman Ridgway of Missouri, and Bret Bond of Canton. Eight greatgrandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Lamar “Son” Jinks and her daughter Carole Bond Ridgway.
A Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Reba Morris Jinks will be conducted in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 2:00 PM, Rev. Steve Pattison will officiate. Interment will follow the Service in the Cedar Rock Cemetery. The Family will receive friends for one hour immediately prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM.
