Richard Melvin Blackmon Obituary

Richard Melvin Blackmon, age 58, of Locust Grove, GA passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Trion, GA February 10, 1959 son of Betty Joyce Chastain and the late Lloyd Blackmon, Jr. He was a painter for many years and had worked as a dispatcher for the wrecker business. He had attended the Heritage Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife, Donna Lee Fulmer Blackmon; children, Brandon and Carmen Blackmon, Richard Anthony Blackmon; grandchildren, Skyler Welborn, Landon Blackmon and Emma Blackmon; brothers and sister, Ricky Blackmon, Mark Blackmon, Danny Blackmon and Brenda Drake and his mother, Betty Blackmon. He was preceded in death by his son, Randall Blackmon in 2008.


Funeral services for Richard Melvin Blackmon will be Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 1:30PM at the Heritage Baptist Church in Locust Grove. Rev. Terrell Hopkins will officiate with interment in the Locust Grove Cemetery. Richard will be carried to the church Wednesday at 12:00 Noon.
