Mr. Richard Howell (Dickie) Britton, age 79 and lifelong resident of Butts Co. passed away Late Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Wellstar Spalding Hospital surrounded by his loving Family. Dickie was born Monday, October 11, 1943, in Butts Co. to the late Letson and Dorothy Thompson Britton. Dickie was a 1962 graduate of Jackson High School, a veteran of the Georgia National Guard and a deep-rooted member of Towaliga Baptist Church. Dickie was an avid sports fan he loved to read, travel and hunt, he deeply loved his family. He was employed by the Kim Company until their closure and later retired from Fashion Industries as shipping clerk after many years of dedicated service.
He is survived by his long-time companion, Angelyn Washington, brothers and sisters-in-law; Marion & Donna Britton, Robbie & Donna Britton, sister; Claudette Harper and sister and brother-in-law; Maynette & Wynsol Smith all of Jackson. Along with his parents Dickie is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Charles Harper.
A Funeral Service for Richard Howell (Dickie) Britton will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Towaliga Baptist Church, Mr. Phillip Britton will officiate, interment will follow in the Towaliga Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour immediately prior to the Service.
