Robert Ellis Walker Obituary

Mr. Robert Ellis Walker, known to many as Artie, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born on Tuesday, January 3, 1950, in Anderson, South Carolina, and lived a life marked by love, skill, and a deep appreciation for the things that brought him joy. He will be remembered as a loving, strong, hardworking man whose presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Artie was married for more than 30 years to Karen Ann Green Walker, who preceded him in death. Together, they shared a life built on devotion, family, and enduring companionship. He was a proud father to Robert Clint Walker & Laura, Kevin Matthew Haver, Daniel Eugene Haver & Brittney, Robert Ellis Walker, Jr. & Kelly, Stephen Arlo Haver, & Sarah Grey Walker. He also cherished his role as a grandfather to 10 grandchildren, McKenzie Haver, Matthew Haver, Cash Walker, Amelie Walker, Liam Walker, Zoey Haver, Luke Haver, Karsen Haver, Isla Walker, and Athena Haver, each of whom brought him great pride and happiness.

He is also survived by his brother, Ricky & Sharon Walker, and his sister, Jeannie Fulghum. Artie valued family deeply, and his life was enriched by the many relationships he built and maintained over the years. Those who loved him will remember the way he could always be counted on when something needed to be fixed or figured out.

Artie, a Vietnam Veteran, served his country. This chapter of his life reflected his sense of duty and commitment. Following his military service, he became self-employed in automotive repair, where his natural ability with his hands and his practical knowledge served him well. He took pride in his work and was known for being resourceful, dependable, and capable of tackling just about any challenge that came his way.

Outside of work, Artie had a lifelong interest in anything motorcycle related, from riding to restoring. This passion was more than a pastime, as it reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship, freedom, and the open road. Whether he was working on a motorcycle or enjoying a ride, he found joy in the details and satisfaction in bringing something old back to life.

Artie’s family and friends will remember him for the love he gave, the stories he shared, and the practical wisdom he offered so freely. He had a personality that was both engaging and memorable, and he brought a sense of authenticity to every relationship. His life was one of hard work, devotion, and simple pleasures, and he leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and enduring love.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Robert Ellis Walker will be conducted in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home on Saturday, June 6th at 12PM. The Family will receive friends for one hour beginning at 11AM.
