Rose Howell

Rose Fretwell Howell, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Friday afternoon, December 2, 2016 while in hospice care at the residence of her daughter in Stockbridge, GA. She was born in Jackson June 25, 1936 daughter of the late Van Wilson Fretwell and Julia Ellen Pettigrew Fretwell. She was a graduate of Jackson High School and attended Mercer University where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Known for her gentle and sweet spirit she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson and faithfully attended her Sunday school class for over 20 years. She was wife of the late Dr. James C. Howell, Jr.

Survivors include her children, Chris Howell of Kennesaw, GA , Amy Howell Rivers and son-in-law Ricky Rivers of Stockbridge, GA; grandchildren, Ben Howell, Peyton Howell, Zach Howell, Madison Rivers, Mallory Rivers, sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and T. E. Robison, Jr. (Sonny) and several nieces and nephews. Other than her parents and husband Rose was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Fretwell and twin Dan Fretwell.

Funeral services for Rose Fretwell Howell will be Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 2:00PM at the First Baptist Church in Jackson. Rev. Keith Joseph will officiate. Interment will be in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 – 8 PM.
