Scott Waits

Edward Scott Waits, affectionately known as “Rooster” age 60, of Jackson passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born on December 8, 1957 to Jane Barnes Waits and the late Edward Waits. Scott graduated from Jackson High School in 1976, where he was known for his pitching skills while playing for the Jackson Red Devils baseball team. He worked at American Mills and Pike Electric.  Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching old westerns, and was a great dad to his children. enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching old westerns and gardening, watching old westerns, and was a great dad to his children.

In addition to his mother, Scott is survived by his children, Jake and Audrey Waits (granddaughter to be Auden Elizabeth Waits), and Lauren and Casey Kersey, brother, Terry and Angela Waits, sisters,  Carole Dean, Donna and Robbie Britton, and Becky and Chuck Aly;  special friends Rhonda and Byron Smith; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Scott's life at his funeral service to be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Phillip Britton will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Haisten Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Towaliga Baptist Church, 160 Towaliga Church Rd., Jackson, GA 30233 or to Paran Baptist Church, c/o Myra Waldrep, 2388 Hwy 42 N., Forsyth, GA 31029.
