Sue Chunn Blue

Sue Chunn Blue, age 93, of Jackson, GA passed away January 9, 2017 at the Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough, GA. She was born in Woodbury, GA October 7, 1923 daughter of the late Joseph Warren Chunn and Gussie Moultrie Chunn. She married Walter Eugene Blue on September 9, 1940. She attended the local schools in Woodbury where she played basketball and tennis. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was also a loyal employee of Southern Bell for over 30 years. She started her career as a switchboard operator in Woodbury, GA in the days of all calls going through the local switchboard. She ended her career as a Bell South Service Representative. She loved to paint and crochet.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Williams, Cathye Fuller (David) and son, Danny Blue (Emily). She is also survived by seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she is pre deceased by her husband, Gene Blue, a grandson Dan Blue, and a son-in-law, Bruce Williams.

Funeral services for Sue Chunn Blue will be Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Woodbury City Cemetery. Rev. Lane Jenkins and Rev. Chris Shurtz will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00PM. You may sign the on-line registry by going to www.haistenfuneral.com
