Susan Faye Norton Barabas

Susan Faye Norton Barabas, age 68, of Jenkinsburg passed away at her residence Tuesday, January 18, 2022.  She was born Tuesday May 5, 1953 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Hiram A. & Peggy Jones Norton.  Susan had been employed as a Correctional Officer with the Georgia Department of Prisons and retired in 2003 after sixteen years of service.  Susan was a member of the Jackson High School class of 1971.  She was currently serving as a member of the Jenkinsburg City Council.

Susan enjoyed traveling and spoiling her pets, but the love of her life was horses.  She was well known on the Horse Show Circuit having competed in barrel racing and other events and even won several State Championships.

Along with her parents, Susan is also preceded in death by her husband Jack Barabas, who passed away in 2000.  Those left to cherish her memory include her son and daughter-in-law; James Brian & Danna Street, her brother and sister-in-law; Joe & Stephanie Norton and her sister and brother-in-law; Joyce & Wayne Morgan.

Memorial Services for Susan Faye Norton Barabas will be held Saturday January 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, Dr. Ed Hoard will officiate.  Friends may visit with the Family for one hour prior to the Service, beginning at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
