Turista (Wynn) Elmore Obituary

Mrs. Turista Wynn Elmore, age 77, known lovingly to family and friends as Turista or T, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at her residence. Born on Saturday, February 19, 1949, in Atlanta, she lived a life marked by kindness, thoughtfulness, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew her.


            Turista was a woman who carried herself with grace and warmth, and she will be remembered for the care she showed to others throughout her life. She had a heart for people and animals alike, and she found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful connections. Her presence brought comfort, and her steady nature made her a source of love and support to those around her.


            She was employed by East Point Cycle & Key, where she contributed her time and talents with dedication. Outside of work, Turista devoted herself to the things she loved most. She enjoyed dogs and cats, helping at animal shelters, gardening, visiting produce stands, and spending time at the lake. She also enjoyed watching soap operas, especially General Hospital.


            Turista was active in her community and gave of herself through service with the Butts County Humane Society and the Lions Club. Her willingness to help others reflected the compassionate way she lived her life. She believed in showing up, lending a hand, and making a difference wherever she could.


            She is survived by her grandchildren, Erin Mixon (Bradley), Karley Avans, (Austin) and Evan West (Brooke), She is also survived by her son-in-law, Eddie West; her sister-in-law, Glenda Wynn; and her niece, Shelley Culp. These loved ones will carry forward her memory and the many lessons she shared through her example of love and devotion.


            Turista was preceded in death by her partner, Louise Smart; her daughter, Beverly West; her parents, Reba Wynn Griffith and Charles Wynn Sr.; her stepfather, William Moore; her brother, Charles Wynn Jr.; her niece, Glenda Wynn; and her nephew, Charles Wynn III.


            Turista will be remembered for her kind heart, her thoughtful nature, and the love she gave so freely. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and her legacy of compassion, service, and quiet strength will not be forgotten.


             A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10 AM in the Forest Lawn Memorial Garden, 5755 Mallory Road, College Park, Georgia, Dr. Ed Hoard will officiate.
