Vicki Shockley Obituary

Mrs. Vicki Lynn Shockley, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, in Jackson, at the age of 75. Born on September 13, 1950, in Hamilton, Ohio, Vicki was the beloved daughter of Lyda Spurlock Messer and the late Charles Messer. Her warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

Vicki's life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family and her community. She is survived by her loving son, Matthew and his wife Naomi Shockley of Jackson; her devoted daughters, Mary Shockley of Fruitland Park, FL, and Gracie Shockley of Jackson. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Rowan Shockley, Tucker Shockley, and Harper Goss, who brought immense joy to her life. Vicki also leaves behind her caring brother, Eric and his wife Ada Messer of Danville, GA; her sisters, Judi and her husband Chip Davis of Leesburg, FL, and Jill Messer and Bill Soderstrom. Her nieces and nephews will fondly remember their Aunt Vicki's love and guidance. She was predeceased by her son, Joshua Shockley, and her granddaughter, Zoey Koppel, who were both deeply loved and remain forever in her heart.                                                                                                                       .

Vicki's professional life was marked by over 25 years of dedicated service to the state of Georgia. Her colleagues respected her for her work ethic, her kindness, and her ability to bring out the best in those around her. Beyond her career, Vicki was an active member of her community, where she formed lasting friendships and was known for her willingness to lend a helping hand.

An avid Georgia Bulldog fan, Vicki's enthusiasm for her team was contagious. She found solace and pleasure in gardening, creating a haven of beauty and tranquility in her backyard. Watching her grandchildren's sports events was one of her greatest delights, and she was their most vocal and supportive fan. Vicki's love for being with friends and family was at the core of who she was; she cherished every moment spent in their company. Her passion for genealogy allowed her to connect with her roots and share those stories with her loved ones. The beach was a place of serenity for Vicki, where she enjoyed the soothing sounds of the waves and the warmth of the sun.

A celebration of Vicki's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the love she shared with so many. Online condolences can be expressed at www.haistenfuneral.com, where her life's journey and the memories she created can be cherished and remembered.

Vicki's departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Vicki Lynn Shockley's story is one of love, family, and an enduring legacy that will be celebrated for generations to come.
