Virginia Wyatt

Carolyn Virginia Caliway Wyatt, age 80, of Macon, GA passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. She was born in Shreveport, LA July 17, 1935. She was retired from the State of Georgia where she was employed by the Butts County Department of Family and Children’s Services and Fayette County DFCS. Prior to her service with the DFCS she was a math teacher with the Butts County Board of Education. Remembered for her musical abilities on both the piano and organ she served many churches throughout the community and state , as well as teaching many students the art of piano playing. She was a graduate of Byrd High School in Shreveport, LA and received a degree of Music performance from the Louisiana College in Pineville, LA. She received a Masters of Social Work from the University of Georgia. Virginia was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Macon. Virginia married Rudolph Byrd “Rudy” Wyatt, Sr. in 1956. He passed away several years ago while they were residing in Fayetteville, GA. Survivors include her three sons, Rudolph Byrd Wyatt, Jr. and David G. Wyatt both of Macon, GA, and Charles M. Wyatt of Dallas, GA, daughter-in-law, Chandra S. Wyatt, grandchildren, Meredith Grace Wyatt and Jose Mario Wyatt, several nieces, nephews, and a sister, Beth Anderson of Shreveport, LA. A Memorial Service for Carolyn Virginia Caliway Wyatt will be Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 4:00PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Rev. John Kinser will officiate. There will be a visitation with the family from 2:00 – 4:00PM at the funeral home. There will be a private interment at Camp Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville at a later date.
