Wallace Douglas Durrett, III

Wallace Douglas Durrett, III, age 75, died peacefully on January 25 surrounded by family and friends. He closed his eyes on earth and immediately opened them in Heaven. His body was donated to Genesis Medical Education and Research Institute. A Memorial Service remembering Doug and honoring the Lord will be held on Saturday, February 3, at 11:00AM at Jackson Presbyterian Church 240 North Oak Street, Jackson, GA. Visitation with his family will begin in the sanctuary at 10:00AM. Doug served in the U. S. Air Force and spent most of his working years as vice-president of McIntosh State Bank. He is survived by his wife, Susan, three children, Dede Rowland (Mike), Dara Crittenden (Shawn), and Doug Durrett IV (Tammy), three step children, Wen Brown (Wanda), Stephen Brown and Meg Compere (David), 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He loved his Lord, his family, his friends, and never met a stranger. The church will receive flowers, or in lieu of flowers, submit a donation in Doug’s honor to Samaritan’s Purse or any charity of your choice.
