Wayne Cook

Marion Wayne Cook, age 79, of Jackson, GA passed away Thursday afternoon at Sylvan Grove Hospital. He was born in Jackson, GA December 15, 1938 son of the late Marion Boyd “Buck” Cook and Lena Mae Day Cook. Wayne was a 1957 graduate of Jackson High School and had been a member of the Georgia National Guard for over 20 years. He was employed by General Motors in Atlanta for over 20 years. He was a member of the Jackson Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years where he had served on many church boards. Wayne enjoyed baking cakes and bar b quing and cooked for many church camps.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ioline Perdue Cook of Jackson; children, Gary and Lisa Cook, Edith and Mike Stewart; grandchildren, Zachary and Kelly Cook and Sarah Jo Cook;   sister, Ann Cook Greene and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Marion Wayne Cook will be Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 3:00PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Pastor Steven Dudley and Dr. Roy Rogers will officiate with interment in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 3 PM Saturday.
