Wayne Maddox Obituary

Wayne Franklin Maddox, age 77, of Jackson, GA loving husband and father, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Westbury Medical Care Home.

He was born in Butts County April 14, 1940 son of the late Lee and Lillie Pritchett Maddox. Wayne owned and managed the Lee Maddox Store following the death of his father. He dearly loved playing and writing music and entertaining. He worked for many years at Dauset Trails. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1958. He attended the Lighthouse Baptist Church for many years where he had many friends and recently joined the Towaliga Baptist Church.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Linda Lurlyne Holley Maddox, who dearly cared for him in his last years; his children, Tommy Ray Goolsby, Jr and Rowena, Kaye and Richard Gossett and Steven Goolsby, grandchildren, Danny Goolsby, Jonathan Goolsby, Jesse Goolsby, Jasmine Akins (Courtland), Jessica Ehler ( Cory), Justin Gossett, Britt Goolsby (Kelli), Amy Vaughn (Jeffery), many great grandchildren and had a multitude of friends.

Funeral services for Wayne Franklin Maddox will be Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson. Pastor Rob Tenny and Rev. Jay Sanders will officiate with interment in the Towaliga Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon from 5:00 – 7:00PM.
