Winnie Goodman

Winnie Rasmussen Goodman (76) of Jackson, Georgia previously of Decatur, Georgia passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2018 at home with her family by her side. She was known to many as “Ms. Winnie” with her many endeavors including business, personal and volunteer work.

She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and moved to the United States when she was 20. She was preceded in death by her father, Aage Rasmussen and is survived by her mother, Annelisa Rasmussen and brother, Irving Rasmussen of Denmark. She is also survived by her two daughters, Christy Daniel (Cliff) of Orange Beach, Alabama and Kelly Manning (Scott) of Snellville, Georgia, seven grandchildren, Kaylee, Courtney, Kennedy, and Cassidy Daniel and Bailey Garrett and Annelisa Manning and niece Louise Rasmussen and nephew Peter Rasmussen of Denmark. In addition to family, she had many friends and touched many hearts. Her legacy will live on.

Winnie was active in Junior League of DeKalb County, Lions Club, and Arts Council. She was also a successful business owner.

A celebration of Life will be held at Stark United Methodist Church, 1097 Halls Bridge Road, Jackson, Georgia 30233 on Monday February 5th . Visitation will be at 10:00am with a service following at 11:00am. A lunch reception will follow the service at the church.
